
Role: Head of Marketing
Reports to: CEO
Location: Home based with head office in Preston
Role Objectives
Develop and implement a marketing strategy that drives sales, brand awareness and customer loyalty.
Position the company as a leading operator within the UK pub sector through distinctive campaigns, PR activity and customer engagement.
Support operations team(s) and individual pubs with key event campaign activations, to help them thrive.
Drive digital transformation through social media, website, email marketing and loyalty.
Act as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to the wider commercial and cultural strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Brand Development
Develop, own, and deliver the company’s marketing strategy, in line with business objectives.
Lead the end-to-end delivery of the company’s brand positioning, ensuring alignment with the business’ vision, values, and strategy.
Conduct consumer research and analysis to identify trends and consumer habits.
Develop and manage a marketing budget, ensuring optimal ROI.
People, Communication & PR
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, leveraging advertising and promotional funds to support impactful campaigns.
Oversee press office, public affairs and PR opportunities, ensuring the company and pubs are positively positioned with the media.
Build relationships, attend industry events and represent the business to key industry partners.
Manage multiple agency relationships across design, print, PR, and digital.
Manage and develop the marketing team, providing clear objectives and career development opportunities.
Develop and lead both the internal and external communications strategy, keeping all employees and pub teams engaged and informed.
Digital & Customer Engagement
Lead the digital roadmap, covering social media, company website, paid advertising and email marketing, ensuring brand consistency across all platforms, maximising engagement.
Design and deliver a customer loyalty strategy that increases repeat visits and average spend across the pubs.
Create compelling reasons to visit and execute activations in conjunction with the marketing calendar.
Create and oversee campaign briefs for key events, including supplier negotiations and ROI reporting.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing.
Previous experience in hospitality is strongly preferable.
Proven commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and deliver strong ROI.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing at senior level.
Strong track record of managing agencies and delivering integrated marketing campaigns.
Strong organisational and leadership skills.
