Thousands Gather to Celebrate the Life of a Legend in a Weekend of Joy, Laughter and Giving
This weekend, Barrow-in-Furness was the beating heart of something truly special. On Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd June 2025, thousands of people came together to celebrate “I’m Having a Dave Day” — a heartfelt tribute to the much-loved Hairy Biker, Dave Myers.
Amber Taverns was incredibly proud to be part of this unforgettable event, supporting the celebrations through our local pub, The Kings, and as official sponsors of the charity football match held at Barrow AFC’s Holker Street stadium on the Sunday.
The two-day festival saw an outpouring of community spirit, music, laughter, and roaring engines as hundreds of bikers from across the country made the emotional pilgrimage in convoy to Dave’s hometown. Barrow’s streets were filled with the sound of engines, applause, and fond memories.
At the heart of it all, The Kings Pub on Dalton Road became a hub of celebration. Throughout the weekend, we welcomed guests from near and far who came to raise a glass, share stories, and honour Dave’s incredible legacy with music, laughter, and northern hospitality. The atmosphere was electric, with DJs, entertainment, and the warm spirit of togetherness that defines both The Kings and the Amber Taverns family.
On Sunday, the charity football match brought even more energy to the town, with fans filling the stands at Barrow AFC and raising vital funds for local charities. We were proud to sponsor this event and help contribute to a day filled with both fun and purpose.
To everyone who took part, travelled to Barrow, or raised a glass at The Kings – thank you. We were honoured to be involved in a weekend that showed the very best of what community means.
Dave Day 2025 wasn’t just a celebration – it was a movement of kindness, remembrance, and joy.
